Key Information
• Commencement: Activities for the second phase begin on September 28.
• Objectives: To eliminate the sources and roots of the drug trade, while ensuring counseling, de-addiction treatment, psychological support, and rehabilitation for those addicted to drugs.
• Local Participation: 'Ward-level Toofan Samitis' (action committees) and 'Janajagratha Samitis' (public awareness committees) are being formed across all 20,999 wards in Kerala, with the cooperation of local self-government institutions.
• Household-level awareness initiatives: Awareness programs and anti-drug Gram Sabhas are being organized at the household level.
• Toofan Care: Numerous hospitals across the state have expressed their willingness to collaborate with this initiative, which was established for rehabilitation activities.
